DORSET cheesemaker Ford Farm is celebrating after winning accolades for its star brand, Wookey Hole Cave Aged Cheddar.
The cheese collected two gold starts at the Great taste Awards 2013.
Along with other Ford Farm cheeses, it swept the board at the International Cheese Awards in Nantwich.
The Litton Cheney cheesemaker added five gold awards, two bronze awards and three highly commended to its collection and the Cave Aged Cheddar took home the Haughmond Trophy as the overall winner of group of traditional cheddar cheeses.
Mike Pullen, managing director at Ford Farm, said: “Making a great cheese is one thing but making a great cheese consistently is a true feat.
“Thanks to our great team at the dairy, we have created exactly the right conditions to develop a cheese year in, year out that just keeps on delivering on flavour.”
Wookey Hole Cave Aged Cheddar is matured 200 feet underground in the caves at Wookey Hole in Somerset.
