Through the medium of the BMV we would like to ask Stourhead Estates why they allow hunting in their woods.
We regularly walk in the woods at Pen Selwood. Their notice says "walkers welcome on the tracks keep dogs under close control for the sake of the wildlife". On 28th January while walking these woods we were sickened by the sound of baying hounds off the track to our left. It's a blood curdling noise and we feared for the deer we regularly see in these woods. The mounted huntspeople thundered past us and we were anxious that the hounds would not come close to us and our old dog. Were these people abiding by the law, or did they consider themselves to be above it?
