Police area appealing for witnesses after an alleged assault in Weymouth

Two men have been arrested after an alleged assault outside a Weymouth petrol station.

The incident left a 23-year-old man with facial injuries near the Esso petrol station on King Street, Melcombe Regis.

At just after 8pm on Monday January 21, a large disturbance took place involving several people.

Police Constable Colin Bell of Weymouth Police said: "I am appealing for witnesses to come forward and assist with this investigation.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this disturbance take place, or has knowledge of those involved."

Two 22-year-old men, one from Weymouth and and other to no fixed address were arrested and release on bail while police enquiries continue.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 21:425.
