Two men in Bournemouth were seriously assaulted on a night out - with one victim being accidentally hit by a taxi.

At around 3am on Sunday December 9, two men needed hospital treatment after an incident outside Beales on Old Christchurch Road.

Detective Constable James Lees of Bournemouth and Poole CID said: "I am appealing for witnesses to this assault to find out exactly what happened.

"Two men have been left with serious injuries and required hospital treatment.

"Unfortunately the incident happened extremely quickly and neither victim can recall any descriptions of the offenders.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed this assault to contact police as soon as possible.

"We are also keen to speak to the taxi driver involved who may have information that can assist us with our enquiries."
